Sri Lanka Introduces Digital Nomad Visa

According to a report from Daily Pakistan, the Digital Nomad visa in Sri Lanka has specific requirements, including a minimum monthly income of $2,000, which must be routed through the Sri Lankan banking system. This visa can be renewed annually as long as the necessary funds are verified. Applicants are required to pay a $500 application fee, and the visa covers the visa holder's spouse and dependents. Other known requirements for obtaining the Digital Nomad Visa include having a valid passport for at least six months beyond the entry date, and the applicant should be working remotely as an employee, freelancer, or business owner for clients located outside of Sri Lanka. The goal is to diversify revenue streams and enhance long-term economic stability Tourism figures from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority have shown a significant increase in tourist arrivals this year compared to the previous year, with July marking the peak at 143,039 arrivals. Last month, Sri Lanka welcomed 136,405 tourist arrivals, indicating positive growth in the sector.
