OpenAI Leader Becomes the First Recipient of Indonesia’s ‘Golden Visa’

 The Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Indonesia has confirmed the launch of a visa program with the aim of attracting more foreign investment and influential investors, such as Sam Altman. This visa initiative is designed to encourage foreign investment in the country, and it was reported by VisaGuide.World.

Silmy Karim, the Director General of Immigration in Indonesia, expressed hope that the participation of figures like Sam Altman would contribute to the development and utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in the country. He highlighted that golden visas are among various categories offered in addition to those based on capital investment, and they are intended for individuals with international reputations who can benefit Indonesia. Sam Altman, the American entrepreneur, will be granted a Golden Visa for a ten-year period, which comes with various privileges, including expedited screening at airports and ease of entry and exit. Sam Altman visited Indonesia in June as part of a global tour focused on raising awareness about the risks associated with artificial intelligence. The authorities in Indonesia are using this golden visa program as a way to stimulate the country's economy by attracting individuals who can make financial contributions to the nation.
