Chinese tourists visiting Tunisia are required to provide proof of hotel reservations and airline tickets before entering the country, as reported by local media.
Tunisia's economy heavily relies on tourism, and authorities are optimistic about tapping into the vast potential of the Chinese tourism market to boost their sector. Notably, international tourism industries often leverage events like New Year's Day and the Spring Festival to attract Chinese tourists, capitalizing on these holidays' significance. Recently concluded holidays, such as the National Day celebrations, along with upcoming events like New Year's Day and the Spring Festival, hold great importance for foreign tourism sectors seeking to entice Chinese travelers. Additionally, several other countries and regions have adopted similar entry policies to attract Chinese tourists. These destinations include Thailand, Georgia, and Kiribati. China's travel and tourism industry demonstrated resilience during the eight-day Golden Week that started this month, encompassing the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays. During this period, the total number of inbound and outbound trips reached 11.82 million, representing 85.1 percent of 2019 levels. This recovery is promising for the sector.
