During the 'Austrian Night' Welcome Reception held on October 3 at the World Passenger Festival in Vienna, several organizations were honored with the Rail Tourism Awards. These prestigious awards, presented by the European Travel Commission (ETC) and Eurail, recognize exceptional contributions to the promotion of train travel in Europe, with an emphasis on sustainability. The event took place with the support of ÖBB Austrian Federal Railways and Wiener Linien, and it marked the commencement of the annual two-day public transportation forum. The winners of the third edition of the Rail Tourism Awards were revealed during this event. Switzerland Tourism, Occitanie Regional Tourism and Leisure Board, Vienna Tourist Board, Renfe, and Turismo de Galicia were among the distinguished awardees. These awards acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding work done in promoting train travel within Europe while highlighting the importance of sustainable practices in the industry.
