The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program, mandated by Congress, allocates a maximum of 55,000 diversity visas (DVs) annually through a random selection process. These visas are made available to individuals who meet stringent eligibility criteria and originate from countries and regions with low recent immigration rates to the United States. Applicants can access the electronic DV entry form (E-DV) on the official E-DV website, , during the registration period. The registration window spans from 7:00 PM Bulgarian time on October 4, 2023, to 7:00 PM Bulgarian time on November 7, It's essential to note that the Department accepts entries exclusively through the E-DV website, which provides comprehensive instructions. There is no fee required to enter the program. However, individuals selected for an interview must pay the application fee before their official consular officer appointment. All entrants should save and retain their online confirmation page after completing their DV entries to check their entry status Entrants must keep a record of their unique confirmation number for DV entry submission until at least September 30, 2025. Starting from May 4, 2024, DV-2025 entrants can use their unique confirmation numbers, provided during registration, to check the Entrant Status Check online at https://dvprogram.state.gov/. This will inform successful entrants on how to apply for DVs for themselves and eligible family members, and the Department will also confirm visa interview appointments through Entrant Status Check. All entrants must submit a recent photo taken within the last six months. Entries with outdated photos, including photos from previous DV years, may lead to disqualification. The law allows only one primary entry per person during the registration period. Submitting multiple primary entries for one person will disqualify all entries associated with that person. Spouses may both enter as primary entrants and include each other as eligible family members.
