Which European Countries issue Schengen Visas?

The Schengen visa is issued by the member countries of the Schengen zone, which consists of 27 nations that have ratified the Schengen agreement. This agreement enables citizens of these member countries to travel within the Schengen zone without undergoing passport and border checks. Thus, Schengen visas are available from each participating member country within this zone.

The following list comprises the 27 countries that are part of the Schengen Zone:

Netherlands

These countries are bound by the Schengen Agreement, which allows for passport-free travel within the zone for their citizens and visitors.

Eighteen other countries, despite not being Schengen Zone members themselves, permit foreign nationals from non-Schengen countries to enter and temporarily stay within their borders if they possess a valid multiple-entry Schengen Visa. In such cases, there is no requirement for an additional national visa issued by these countries for entry, transit, or temporary residence.
