Tourism or private stay.

Receiving medical care from a hospital.

Regarding your visa:

If your stay lasts for no more than 90 days within a 180-day period, you will receive either a short-stay uniform Schengen visa or a national visa, depending on your destination.

If you have an airport stopover in France, make sure you do not require an airport transit visa.

If your total stay duration exceeds 90 days, you will be granted a long-stay national visa
